Nexus Mundi Foundation shows its mission in its name: “nexus” – the connecting point for partners that come together from three worlds:

a) Private Industry: telecomunications corporations contribute contribute specialized knowledge and technical resources.

b) Bi-lateral and multi-lateral entities: national and local governments, and international banks support the project because it fits their development and educational goals .

c) Local Institutions: NGOs and faith-based groups provide a real value in established structural presence. The local community works for the project and develops a sense of ownership.

Partnership results in a dynamic interplay of technology, pedagogy and community.

The latest technology creates an intranet that serves as the hub for developing community based on communication and connectivity. The intranet bridges the gap between rural and urban populations so that the Nexus Mundi center itself becomes the “nexus” of the local community. Each partner makes its own unique contribution to bridging the digital divide.

As World Bank President James Wolfensohn points out, the issues and problems associated with poverty, HIV/AIDS, conflict, gender concerns and other aspects of globalization are "too much" for any one group to tackle alone.

About Nexus Mundi Foundation Nexus Mundi’s mission is raising funds and establishing partnerships with organizations and individuals to connect the developing world to the opportunity provided by advanced communications technology. We not only bring technology into rural and impoverished areas, but also provide communities with ongoing training, technical support and program assistance.

Nexus Mundi is an independent, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization incorporated under the laws of the United States and the State of New York, with offices in New York City and Rome.
